Nandini started sewing in 2019 when her husband bought her the Beginners Class at Sewing Adventures, as a gift. At the time there was into much thought about sewing her own clothes but Nandini thought it would be a great skill to learn so she could fix her own hems! She arrive to the Beginners Weekend with a 3 month baby boy that was spending the weekend with Dad and coming in for feeds!
Fast forward 3 years and Nandini has filled her wardrobe with me made dresses that are colourful and spark her with great joy! "Sewing has been very therapeutic for me, especially with my busy life as an emergency doc and full time mum! Doing classes at Sewing Adventures has enabled me to build on my skills over time while being part of an amazing sewing community" she said.
Nandini also started pattern testing for several indie brands - discovering how a pattern develops and transitions into a beautiful end product!
Nandini has also started sewing for family and friends as presents, and nothing brings her more joy than when someone says “I love your dress, is it Gorman?” Her answer... “nope, I made it!”
