Adults Journey - Beginner Basics

Sat 12 & 13 April - 9am to 4pm - 2 day weekend

Mon 3 March - 9.30am to 12noon - 5 consecutive weeks 

Wed 12 March - 6.30pm to 9pm - 5 consecutive weeks 

Sat 24 & 25 May - 9am to 4pm - 2 day weekend

Want to learn to sew? Join us as we start you on your adventures.

Each week we take you through the basics with different projects and learning lessons. The projects are practical and unisex and will take you from a novice to a sewist who is confident with their basic skills and machine. 

Many people have never used a machine before so we start at the very beginning and grow your confidence each week!

The projects include an apron, boxer shorts, market bag and cushion with a zip.

• All about your machine
  
• Patterns - new and old
• About woven fabrics
• Cutting fabrics
• Basic bag making 
• Best sewing tools 
• Adding a zip using the basting method
• Machine maintenance

What’s included:

• Professional teaching in a fun and friendly environment
• 12 hours of sewing tuition in a group of up to 8 students
• Tea, coffee and biscuits to keep you going
  

You will need to bring/supply:

• Your sewing machine or hire from us for $10/lesson or $50/weekend
• Materials such as fabric for the class projects (the estimated cost of materials is $70). Details of these will be provided after booking and no fabrics are needed for week one.
• Pins, bobbins, dressmaking shears, thread etc.
