Who is Debra Drake and what is The Great British Sewing Bee!

For those of you who have Binge or Foxtel - The Great British Sewing Bee is a TV show similar to Masterchef but for SEWING!  The BBC has many seasons under their belt and we were super excited when Season 8 Finalist, Debra - contacted us about teaching at Sewing Adventures.

The French Style jacket is a wardrobe staple.  The deceptively simple shape hides a multitude of couture techniques.  Come and join us to make this classic at Sewing with Style.  Lose yourself in the hand sewing techniques honed in the ateliers in Paris.  To be made in tweed, silk or bouice.

We will start by making a toile (practice garment).  From then we will fit the garment to your figure and adjust the pattern.  The following days will be spent cutting the beautiful tweed (possible pattern matching!), quilting, fitting a sleeve, adding pockets, fringing (optional), gimp braiding (optional), and using hidden techniques to make this a truly beautiful addition to your wardrobe.
