Teen School Holiday Adventure

Our new Teen Denim Upcycle is designed especially for 12 to 18 year olds who want to develop their sewing skills and learn about recycling, refashioning, bag making and up cycling.

The course is designed to review the basics of using a sewing machine in detail including threading, tension, stitches. Students will also learn to read basic patterns, develop cutting skills and go on to create and make design and make their own basic denim bag refashion and other small demin projects

Students are encouraged to do some research into projects that they might like to achieve.  Leesa will work them to ensure that the project is suitable.  Although we will supply some old jeans an op shop visit to find some interesting pairs with cool features is a holiday project that can be undertaken.

This class is suitable for our long term students who have done lots of sewing with us, new teens that have done our Teen Basics and students who are taking Food & Fibre at high school.

Our Teen Refashions will create:

• Learning about up cycling fabrics
  
• Bag making and denim sewing skills
• Developing their idea to create their own project
  

What is supplied:

• Professional teaching in a fun and friendly environment
  
• Basic sewing machines provided for use for each student
• 5 hours of sewing tuition in a group of up to 6 students
• Hands on ideas and assorted bag hardware
  
• Use of Studio equipment including Brother sewing machines

You will need to bring/supply:

• Materials required include second hand denim jeans and or skirts for the sewing projects more details of these will be provided in your information pack on booking. 

Skill level required:

This course is designed for 12 to 18 year olds who have a an interested in sewing. They must have solid sewing skills this course is not for beginners.

Parents are welcome to wait in our lounge or drop and collect their child and collect.
